The Treatments

PRP, PRF, and PRP Gel — what each one does

All three are derived from your own blood using a centrifuge process. The difference is concentration, consistency, and what each is best suited to treat. Your provider recommends the right option at consultation.

PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma

Skin renewal & hydration

The thinnest consistency of the three. PRP penetrates deepest when injected and is best for fine skin quality improvement, under-eye hollows, and overall regeneration of the skin. Also the most common booster add-on used with microneedling to amplify collagen stimulation.

PRF

Platelet-Rich Fibrin

Deeper regeneration

Second-generation PRP. Processed without anticoagulants, PRF produces a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors more slowly over time. Higher growth factor concentration than standard PRP, slightly thicker consistency, and a longer-lasting release of regenerative signals.

PRP GEL

Fibrin Matrix / Gel

Regeneration + volume

The thickest consistency — a gel-like fibrin matrix that can add subtle volume while delivering growth factors. Used for areas needing both regeneration and mild volumization, such as under-eye hollows and facial areas with tissue thinning. Behaves more like a soft biostimulator than a traditional filler.

Treatment Areas

Where PRP and PRF injections are used

Injectable PRP and PRF treat a different set of concerns than topical PRP applied through microneedling channels. When injected directly into tissue, growth factors work at a deeper level, regenerating the dermis, improving skin quality, and restoring subtle volume to areas that have thinned over time.

Also paired with microneedling

PRP is commonly applied as a booster during microneedling and RF microneedling sessions. It’s applied topically through the treatment channels to amplify collagen stimulation. This is a different application from injectable PRP but uses the same growth factor source.

What is the difference between PRP, PRF, and PRP Gel?

All three use growth factors from your own blood. PRP is the most liquid — best for fine skin regeneration and under-eye treatment. PRF is thicker with a higher growth factor concentration and slower release. PRP Gel is the thickest — a fibrin matrix that adds subtle volume alongside regeneration. Your provider recommends the right option based on your concern and treatment area at consultation.

Injectable PRP is placed directly into the dermis or subdermis via needle — targeting tissue regeneration at depth. PRP used in microneedling is applied topically through the channels created by the needles, working at a more superficial level to amplify the collagen stimulation response. Both use the same growth factor source. Different mechanism, different depth, different outcome.

Most patients see meaningful improvement from 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every 6 to 12 months sustain results over time. Your provider builds a specific plan at consultation based on your skin and treatment goals.

Pricing depends on the type of treatment (PRP, PRF, or PRP Gel), the number of areas treated, and the number of sessions in your plan. Book a consultation at Infinite Medical Spa for a personalized quote.
