What are Restylane Skinboosters?
RESTYLANE SKINBOOSTERS are specially formulated dermal fillers injected into the skin to improve elasticity, crepiness, and improve overall skin radiance.
RESTYLANE SKINBOOSTERS come in the form of a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is formulated to act like your body’s own natural hyaluronic acid.
How do Restylane Skinboosters work?
RESTYLANE SKINBOOSTERS reverse the skin aging process by reintroducing hyaluronic acid into the skin. Once injected, the water-loving hyaluronic acid molecules start to absorb water up to 200 times its weight and swell, bringing about profound hydration to the skin. This dramatically improved hydration helps the skin looks plumper, brighter, and more youthful.
What to expect during my appointment?
We will complete a thorough review of your heath history, perform a physical examination, discuss your treatment goals, and provide in-depth education about the procedure and medication. Depending on location and area being treated, injections may be completed by the use of serial injections with an ultra fine needle, or a cannula (a sterile plastic needle) to instill the clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid. Numbing cream or local anesthetic can also be provided as an option.
When will I see results?
Best results are typically seen after 2 to 3 treatments.
When can I return to normal activity?
You can return to normal activity after the procedure. However, we do recommend the following:
- Not touching, rubbing, or manipulating the injection area
- Avoiding extreme heat (sun exposure, sauna, tanning beds) for 2 to 3 days
- Avoiding strenuous activity for 2 to 3 days
- Avoiding the application of makeup for at least 24 hours
How long do results last?
Results can last up to 12 months depending on location and amount of product utilized.
Who should not have Restylane Skinboosters?
RESTYLANE SKINBOOSTERS are not recommended for use in pregnant or lactating women, anyone with a history of an allergic reaction to the drug or any of its active ingredients (collagen, eggs, or lidocaine), as well as any infected or inflamed skin, bleeding disorders, and individuals with a tendency to produce excessive scarring such as keloids and/or hypertrophic scars. Please inform us if you have or are experiencing any of the mentioned conditions.
What are the side effects of Restylane Skinboosters?
The vast majority of patients do not experience any side effects. Minor side effects include infection, local irritation, minor bruising at the injection sites, and headaches. Rare side effects include tissue and retinal necrosis, embolism, or serious allergic reaction. If any concerns arise, we always recommend to follow-up with the treating practitioner.
When can I return to normal activity?
Our appointment is likely to be rather brief, and you can plan to return to your normal activities immediately after receiving treatment. However, we book sufficient time to ensure that all of your questions are answered and cosmetic treatments are not rushed.
