Sun spots
and freckling

You'll notice a clearer, more even tone.

Brown pigment absorbs the light, darkens for a few days, then flakes away. This is the change people notice first.

Diffuse redness
and flushing

You'll notice less redness.

Red tones and visible capillaries absorb the light too. Flushing settles over the weeks after each session.

Hands

You'll notice it on your hands too.

Hands show sun the same way the face does. IPL treats them in the same visit.

Is IPL for me

A quick,
honest checklist.

IPL works on two things: brown pigment and red tones. If you recognise yourself below, it is worth a session.

  • Flushing, diffuse redness, visible capillariesYes
  • Uneven, blotchy tone after summerYes

Why three
Pigment sits at different depths and redness responds gradually. Three sessions, four weeks apart, is the plan behind the photos above. One session still gives a visible change; three is where the difference becomes obvious to other people.
VISIA skin analysis machine and scan results
Included with your visit

A VISIA skin analysis,
free at your appointment.

Free$150

Before your IPL session, we photograph your skin with the VISIA imaging system. It maps what the eye cannot see: sun spots under the surface, texture, pores, redness and UV damage, each scored against people your age.

Your provider uses it to personalise your treatment on the day, and it gives you a baseline so you can see exactly what changes at your follow-up. Regularly $150, included with this offer.

How it works

Light in,
pigment out.

IPL (intense pulsed light) sends broad-spectrum light into the skin. Brown pigment and red blood vessels absorb it; the surrounding skin does not. Spots darken and flake away over a week or so, and redness fades over the following weeks. Each pulse feels like a quick elastic snap, and the whole session takes under half an hour with no numbing and no time off work.

Questions

Before you book,
a few quick answers.

What does IPL treat?
IPL (intense pulsed light) targets brown pigment such as sun spots and freckling, and red tones such as flushing, broken capillaries and diffuse redness. It is most often done on the face, neck, chest and hands.
How many sessions do I need?
Most people see a visible change after one session. A series of three, spaced about four weeks apart, is the standard plan for pigment and redness, which is why the 3-session package is the one we recommend most.
Does it hurt?
It feels like a quick snap of an elastic band with each pulse. No numbing is needed and the session itself is around 20 to 30 minutes.
What happens after?
Brown spots usually darken first and then flake away over 5 to 10 days. Redness can look flushed for a few hours. Sunscreen every day afterwards is non-negotiable.
Can I do IPL if I have a tan?
No. Tanned or recently sun-exposed skin needs to settle for a few weeks first. Fall is the ideal season for this reason.
How does the deposit work?
Jane takes a $100 deposit online to hold your spot. It comes off your session or package price at your visit. The remaining balance is paid in clinic.

Pick your plan.
We handle the rest.

Single session $350, two for $700, or the full series for $950. A $100 deposit holds your spot.
